now that you mention it my screen does the same thing. when i unplug the laptop from the charger the screen turns off for a fraction of a second then turns back on. I think it has something to do with power4 gear. because wen i plug in the laptop it goes into super performance mode and when i unplug it, the laptop goes into battery saving mode. I'm thinking that it's not a problem just the system adjusting to different power4 gear modes.

i'm not sure if its the power4gear because i been using rmclock ever since and i never had this problem before. what i can break it down is the video driver. i'm using 7.1, what are you using?

Possible sources include the video driver, P4G or Vista (if you both switched to it). Is a blink when being plugged in/out really a big deal worth sorting through video drivers for?

It's probably powerplay changing settings from AC (max power) to DC (low power), check ATI CP, but it shouldn't do anything to LCD...

okay i tried uninstalling the newst 7.1 driver and installing an older one but now i get this problem "setup did not find a driver caompatible with your current hardware or operating sytem". rwar i guess its just a normal problem with the lcd flickering so i got over it. now everytime i uninstall a video driver, the laptop won't install or detect my graphic card. i use driver clean but it still does not work.

7.1 are good, what I did say that it is probably powerplay and this is a good thing. It's simply drivers which resets itself, similar thing is happening when you change for example AF and AA settings in control panel.

And having powerplay completely disabled is going to have greater chance of damaging laptop (due to the heat) then otherwise....

Unless of course it's different thing than powerplay (but I don't think so)
