    Hi guys,

New ASUS owner here. I got the N61VN-A2 a little less than two weeks ago, and I'm loving MOST things about it.

But I am having a very frustrating issue with my eSATA port on my notebook. I was trying to mount a HDD using my external dock via eSATA, and Windows 7 64-bit wouldn't recognize the connection.

So, I thought it could be either a driver issue, a faulty cable, or a faulty eSATA port on the dock (USB works fine).

But I have since figured out that the eSATA port on the notebook is physically flawed. Windows recognizes the connection, installs the driver and even mounts the HDD if I am VERY FORCEFULLY pushing the cable into the port and keep holding it there.

But the second I let go of the cable the connection is lost.

Is anyone else having this issue? I am so annoyed by this!
