I dont have the original restore disk - pc never came with one, and i only have a drivers disk. I tried the f9 way at startup with quick boot disabled but nothing happens. Is there a way of factory restoring it?
    cheers

There should be a factory restore partition on that hard drive, is there an f11 option or can you get into the bios and see if there is a restore option there. There should be an option to run system restore during the bios screen.

I dont believe the eeepc 901 model has build in restore partition. it come with restore cd. check the device manager. see if there is 2 partition on your hard drive. if you see 5gb of space + rest is your c:, than you have hidden partition. Again I do not believe your model come with hidden restore partition.
