    so im debating on buying a eee pc, im going to mod it, so i need to know if i get the 2g surf can I add more memory? or am i stuck with 512.

    i have the choice between the 2g surf or the 4g not surf, for a 100$ difference, what should i do.?

    You can upgrade the ram but there is only ONE slot.
    Up to 2GB I think.

    Also, the onboard HD is not upgradeable but you can use the SD slot and
    add a 8, 16, or 32GB SDHC drive and use it as a boot drive.

    Be aware that the 2G Surf uses a slower processor than the 4G, has a weaker battery, and you have to completely open the chassis to get to the RAM since there is no RAM access cover/panel on the 2G like on the other Eee PCs.
