I have been using the ethernet cable to connect my ASUS G1 to my internet, but suddenly yesterday the internet connection wont work and windows recognize my ethernet cable to be unplugged. However when I try to plug my ethernet cable to my desktop it works. Seems like the problem is that my G1 LAN card is not working. How do I solve this? Is my LAN card broken?

I don't think there is any problems with your lan, it's more likely the cable.
Only 20% of the internet plugs in our university department work with my W3J.

Very possibly it got damaged. Did you have a thunder storm or anything like that? we had several in the area and a surge could kill your card.

Did you install any new updates for windows, somtimes they seem to kill old hardware drivers and require a fresh install of the drivers to bring the equipment back to life.

I don't think that the cable is damaged or anything because I tried to a different computer and it still works, so the cable is not the problem. How do I get a fresh install of the driver??

just install your driver for the card again.

you may want to take the old one off first via device manager.

I had windows updates kill my sound card and stuff, was baffled by it.

Installing the driver again fixed it, sure enough to confirm I uninstalled the windows update, and reinstalled it and it killed my sound again.

Id assume its possible that it can mess up other drivers aswell.

but I tried to rollback the driver and they said that it can't find the previous driver which means that the windows update did not update the driver

    no, not the driver.

windows update in general. The driver stayed the same it just got screwed up for some reason.

Im just saying take off your drivers and reinstall them and hope it fixes it.
