    external performance

    does adding an external monitor affect performance? I assume is does because my fan is going off more often, therefore it takes more power to drive? I was just wondering if someone can confirm this.

    It may take a bit more power to drive dual screens, but it's not really going to give you a performance hit unless you're trying to game on dual monitors. In that case, you might see a hit (depending on screen resolution).

    I agree, working with two monitors for something like office or internet work shouldn't matter much. If you were gaming on both monitors, yes, that would matter. Are you using powerplay while you use both monitors? I have dual running right now on my W3j, and I don't notice any difference in heat or performance.

    Strange, are you sure the fan doesn't go off for other reasons (e.g., software that you've started)?
