Does the SD port on my f8sp-x1 support SDHC cards? Looking for ways to boost battery life when doing benign tasks like listening to music and working on office docs, figure moving them all to flash memory so the hard drive won't be needed as often would help lengthen the battery's life.
Also, are there any other ways to increase the battery life on this computer? I'm going to download RivaTuner tomorrow and try to throttle the GPU's clocks a bit...
    Thanks all!

Yes, it should, but putting files on a SD card will do absolutely *nothing* to improve system battery life, since the HDD will still be spun up, and Vista is going to keep accessing the HDD anyway so that negates even trying to force a spindown.

The main things you can do to improve battery life are:
    1. Undervolt the cpu and/or gpu.
    2. Use power setting profiles to force the cpu to the lowest multiplier.
    3. Lower LCD brightness to minimum usable level.

With those options, you can probably expect to get 15-30 min improvement on your max time.

Really? I have noticed when i stop a song in WMP then come back longer than 5 minutes (time to HDD spindown in the battery saving profile) later, it gives me an error about file could not be found. If I try a few seconds later it works. Doesn't that mean that the HDD has stopped?
Also: rivatuner doesn't really like the 3650 in this machine...is there another way to go about underclocking?
    Thanks!
