    Hi guys,
any of you playing fallout 3 in vista home premium sp1 32 bits on an asus (maybe m50sv, but i think others may be affected too). apparently you can bring up the console with ~ like you could in oblivion, but it doesn't work here. i want to know if it's me or something crazy going on with these laptops.

It's the same thing with Oblivion. You need to turn off the Infrared receiver under HIDs in the device manager. That fixes most problems. If, however, you can open it in Oblivion but not in Fallout 3...that's just strange.

i actually never played oblivion on this laptop, it was before it's time. so just the infrared? that's acceptable, it's mostly useless anyway.

edit: it worked, thanks...is there any alpha, beta, gamma driver for the irtec reciever? that seems quite a bug that needs solving

I'm the wrong person to ask for that, haha. Most people just turn the darn thing off.

I play on my SV-A1, but have never tried to bring up the console lol...

I just wanted to ask, how the hell do those two conflict? Especially when the tilde key works in other applications?

Off topic, but are you guys playing at med - high, or what? Was just curious :p

Console has never worked for vista in those 2 games, afaik. I dont know how the Infrared receiver is connected with it.

I play 1280x800 high with HDR and depth of field turned off. All view distance sliders maxed. Lags occasionally, but the ol' 8600 does pretty well for its age and 128-bit bus. xD

Odd thing being, the infrared receiver is a problem only in Vista. I honestly think no one's found out why because it was easier for everyone to turn it off.

Turning off the Infrared Receiver still does not work for me.
