Am using SpeedFan to adjust fan speed based on temperature.
I really don't like my hi temps: cpu: 60s dile 70s load, gpu: 60s idle upper 70s load, HD: 50s idle mid 50s load...
is it bad to leave the fans on 100% continuously or does this reduce thier lifespan...
I have an Asus z70va: 1.73 P-M, x700 vid. card, 5400 rpm HD
ps after having fans at max for about 10 min. temps are in the 50s for just about everything but video card

Have you tried installing Centrino Hardware Control to UNDERVOLT the CPU? THat will lower your CPU temps quite a bit without having to have the fan on much (temps ~45 degrees).
Here's the link

Derek you worry too much. leave your system alone. Those themps are perfectly normal. Yes leaving your fans on all the time will reduce their lifespan but its ok they should outlast the nobooks lifespan.

dude, you need to undervolt or at least speedstep your processor (that is high). Also make sure you've seated it right with thermal compound. You can also use CHC to underclock your GPU if you want. Those temps aren't THAT high. Remember, they're ondie temperatures. Also, make sure your laptop is a little elevated (so fans get good air). For example, on my z71v, if i put the back of the laptop on a 1x2, the GPU cools by almost 10 degress just from better fan airflow!) and with undervolting my CPU runs in at 37-42 deg C average. All your fans on full is LOUD (i know if i kick all mine into full speed, it makes a racket, until i start up a game and drown it out).
