    Hello folks,

I have Asus A6BOOK with broken keyboard AND screen. I've been using external keyboard and TV with the laptop. Suddenly now I can't get the picture on the TV. I only see Windows (XP) starting screen but after that the Windows starts on the Laptop's broken screen and as I can't press fn+F8 to switch to external screen, I was wondering if there is some other way doing it?
I had this problem before and somehow I was able to get the picture back, but I've forgotten how to do it. I also have external monitor, but can't get the picture there either.

    Thanks and regards,
    Kristian Lahdensuo

I don't think an external keyboard can emulate the internal Fn button...

Maybe you want to buy a new keyboard from the ASUS eStore... http://estore.asus.com/shop/category.asp?catid=363 (look for it, there are a lot of parts for A6 models and I'm not sure which model you have)

Although, if you wish to spend the money, maybe a new notebook would be an even better idea...

Thanks but.. I don't think I will be buying new ASUS external keyboard with fn key as I all I need is to press it once.
I have another laptop, but I was planning to use the old one as well occasionally. There should be a workaround for it. Maybe connecting the another laptop and use its fn key?).

Special keys are a pain anyways.

    Cheers,

I really don't follow... how come you only need to press it once?

And I certainly don't see any way of using the Fn key among different laptops. (!?)
