I have replaced my audio-dj board on my asus Z70VA. I ordered an audio-dj board from asus store (25 $ + 12 shipping) . It took me about 2 hours to do it and with the help of the disassembly guide I found on the internet it was an easy job. You will have to take out the screen, CDROM, keyboard, etc to access some of the screw and there is a lot of theme so take some notes because you are going to have some problems.

My beloved z70va is functional again.

    Sorry for my bad English.

Whoa that's good to know, thanks Jean!

I always thought that audio-dj was built into the motherboard???

Mine went screwy and even with headphones plugged into the jack, sound would play through the speakers, so when I sent it into the Asus walkin centre in Markham (Toronto, Canada), they said they had to replace the motherboard.

I don't like how a lot of technicians are so quick to change out motherboards.

I remember my first motherboard in my Z70va, it was great! Low power draw, I could get a lot of juice out of the battery, the GPU on the motherboard was a great overclocker, etc.

Then when I sent in my notebook for the red ghosting issue, they "detected" a problem with my motherboard and the GPU and swapped it out.

After that I had issues with the new board, the audio-dj headphone jack problem, so they swapped for another board.

This new board, that I am currently running, is drawing more power, GPU default core/mem speeds are different, etc.

It's just a different board from what others with Z70Vas have.

Made me feel a little weird, but she's still kicking so no problems I guess, other than the greater power draw.

Also when I took out the keyboard to install some new ram and dust her off a bit, I noticed a sticker saying M6Va.

I know the two notebooks are identical, but perhaps there are some differences on the manufacturing level? Like using slightly different board revisions and such since the M6Va was only available in Europe I believe as an Ensemble model?

Oh well, thanks for the info.

Audio DJ is a discrete (20-bucks or so) component. Can be replaced separately with some amount of effort (requires separating top case from bottom case). A disassembly manual is recommended (i have one if you need it).

Where can one purchase this audio dj? I'm in Toronto, and is there somewhere I can pick one up? My z70va just experienced the same problem as the OP.

    Where is this disassembly guide?

    Thanks
