180.48 is great for gaming. not so good for 3dmark, though.

The 180 series had sleep issues on my G2S, so check it out on your G1S. And yes, they are by far the best drivers out for performance. The 177.66 were a close second for me, but did not function with Far Cry 2. I am currently on 178.13 for FC2. They are close to 177.66, but just not as good.

179.14 turned out to be the best ones for me to date. Made by Asus, maybe thats why.

So they are WHQL signed? Also, are you using a modified inf as well?

Yep, got them at laptopvideo2go and am using the modded inf. They are MS WHQL signed. Beat the 180.xx series by a long shot for me.

Any sleep issues for you on your G1S? If not, then I am in for a try.

What do you define as sleep issues?

As soon as the laptop goes to sleep, it goes BSOD. Was a common issue with earlier 180.x series.

I have never encountered that. The only sginificant issues that i experienced with inappropriate drivers were: games crash upon exiting them (not that it makes a difference at this point but still), stuttering (especially prominent in CS:S), critical FPS loss (Crysis is the leader here), and overheating (Fallout3 did this a lot). With the current drivers i do not experience any of the above mentioned difficulties and will therefor recommend them to you just to try. You can always go back to the previous ones, right?

No problem with 180.70 for me , working on G1S ak005c.

P.S: D3X, seen you've upgrade your HDD like me with a black scorpio, but it still a problem on my installation , i think a driver is missing somewhere , because my computer cannot leave deep sleep mode. Have you experienced the same?

Honestly, I don't use Deep Sleep at all, I've become accustomed to sleep despite using hibernation with Vista prior to the MBP.

But I do experience the seldom sleep problem where it fails to sleep properly or wake. But i think that's an OSX bug. But yeah, this shouldn't be discussed here on this thread, post on the Apple forum of your issue, I'm sure somebody can help you.

I installed 180.70 then 2 seconds after opening World of Warcraft, it froze with crooked pink lines across the screen horizontally. Then I can't boot into the OS anymore after a restart. Luckily, I got it fixed. I went back using 179.14.
