A big hello to everyone.this i my first post here but i have been following this forum for about a week now and let me say the ppl here are very nice(and before anything else sory for bad english)
i am a proud new owner of an asus g1s and i am loving it so far, read all i could about it and tweeked it,this thing is great.but i have tree questions that i would like to ask
1-i have read in this forum that some ppl are having skiping problems in games,i didnt understood this very well but i have a problem when i play bf2 online that basicly the game quits to vista without reason..is that the skiping you are talking about?if not, have you read anything like this about the g1s?
2-my windows scores 4.7 for the g1s and i noticed that at least 2 persons here stated that they are scoring 5.1,is 4.7 normal?whats your score?
3-in games i cant select resolutions that are above 1152 864, for example 1280 1024 and so on,the game just pretend like i didnt did anything(doom3) or just does not open(happens in quake 3 arena)..so i end up playing at 1024 768is this a known problem?
sory for the big text with lots of errors(i can imagine), looking foward for your replys

1. If I don’t run fear with administrative privileges punk buster kicks me, perhaps BF2 is similar. Just right click the application and select run with administrative privileges.
2. The lower score is due to Intel’s speed step technology. If you run a stressful program and then run windows experience index it will be 5.1.
3. I don’t know what would cause this besides the games themselves. I have never heard of such an issue. -
for nr 3. first guess would be you bought a G1S with a low max screen resolution? -
less than 1280x1024? I knew foreign g1s can come with lower res screens, but I thought it was the same as the original G1.
-
tnks for the fast replys,
for nr1 i allready run it on admin,if i dont the punk buster also kicks me and sends me to the game menu, this problem is that the game quits to desktop.
for nr2 thats understoodbut anyway, whats you guys score?is there a thread about that?
finally nr3 my g1s native resolution is 1440 900 isnt that the standart?
(btw laptops rock, im righting this in my car in the way home^^) -
1440 x 900 isn't the standard in the US. 1650 x 1050 is. The reason you can't go higher than 1152 x 864 is because that is the max standard 4:3 resolution your wide screen can support. For more info on widescreen gaming to go http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

nr3 solved! : D thanks
1650 1050 in a 15''?crist can you even read in that thing? -
omg i just scored 4143 in 3dmark06 everything stock, only thing i did was remove some bloatware..im loving this NB so much: D
-
what resolution? Do you have any screeny?
Happy that you love your new notebook
-
ok now im pissed again,i did saved he scores and then i was going to take the screen shot and noticed that the resolution was 1152 864...i installed futuremark and didnt changed anything at all so the resolution was the standart etc,and i went to see wich resolutions were available and above 1152 864 only 1440 900 was(native one) wich brings me to the above problem number 3!! my NB cant display resolutions like 1280 * --- (whats the 3dmark standart one?) im really pissed i knew this couldnt be just because of the 4:3 resolutions,i know most asus 16:10 displays resolutions like 1280 * something am i right?can you guys help me?this is very fustrating could it be the gpu drivers?i allready updated them to the latest in asus support site.thanks in advance

Hey durad I had the same problem as you. For some odd reason though, once I reinstalled Vista using the recovery partition (press F9 while Vista is booting up) it went to the normal 5.1 cpu score.
Just to warn you though, you'll still get an average score of 4.7 or 4.8, since the DDR 2 gets that score (and it's normal). -
thanks for sharing your score MadFerIt, i allready have the 5.1 score in the cpu,and also did a reformat^^ my really big problem now is what i said in my previous post..please someone help
