    Hi,

I got a sick deal for a barely used g1s-a1 (1050$ off ebay) so i've decided to upgrade it a bit: ordered 4 gb of cl 4 ram from newegg, but i'm also looking at a new hd. I want to make sure that 200gb with a sata 300 interface is compatible with my g1s-a1 before I bid for one on ebay. Thanks.

You should consider the Hitachi 7200 RPM 200 GB drive. It is faster than the Seagate and likely about the same price. It works very well in the G1S. I've been using it for months.

But take into account that (from my experience at least) Seagates are much quieter than Hitachis.

Although this will depend on a model-by-model basis. You can look up a review where they compare your chosen model with others, and see how it fares, if you care enough about it. :)

Just a random question. What is the biggest 2.5 hd available?

The largest SATA drives available at the moment are 320GB made by Western Digital and Samsung, both are 5400RPM and are very quick drives. I've heard of a Samsung 500GB coming soon, but I have yet seen them on sale or any official information from their websites.
