Any idea why my touchpad wont remember my settings? Under "mouse" I set the speed I want, then apply and ok. restart my computer and all mouse settings is gone.
btw, my computer came with a logitech mouse/keyboard software driver. I did uninstall that. Did anybody else to that and run into issues?

I remember such issues popping up with other models a while ago but I don't remember the solutions.

You can try a search for "mouse not remembering settings" and similar terms.

USually you need to install the driver for the mouse. THen it has a process running for it that remembers the details.

been trying to remember what to do. I have the g1 laptop sitting right here in vista and its balking at me becuase the mouse is working right. :)
I've uninstalled the logitech mouse/keyboard software (I din't think it needed it as I don't use that usb locitech mouse) i tried installing the MS drivers, uninstalling the generic mouse drivers,uninstalling/reinstalling the synaptic drivers, still no go.grrr
I would dual boot at this point, but others complained how winXP needs to be slipstreamed to get it installed. Strange, I don't remember needing to do that on any of my computers b4. is it because of the serial ata? Although my hoome asus computer is serial ata. Is the G1 serial ata also? I don't remember doing a slipstream for that one.

It doesn't remember for me either, even with the logitech and synaptics drivers installed... I think its because I have the touchpad normal, and the usb mouse set to lefty... so i think at boot the synaptics one overrides the setting for the usb mouse :(

Hmm mouse(usb logitech cordless) is fine. good speed. but the touchpad is super slow to move around. I can move the slider to move faster, but then after reboot, it reverts to being slow. But I swear, the moment I get into vista and I'm touching the mouse pad, I can see it moving at fullspeed, then it slows. so something is loading that kills the mouse settings I think..
