I would like to mod my new g50 TV antenna port to accept a wifi connector instead.

    Has anyone else tried this?

I know it will be a full disassemble, and hooking one of the built-in wifi antenna's to a female connector leading outside of the case.

but has anyone actually tried it?

    THANKS!

It actually is a TV antenna port? From the pictures I saw I thought it already was a WiFi antenna port, I even think I read somewhere you can use it as a wifi antenna extension. But when I'm looking at the specs you're right, their is no wifi extending port.

    On the modification part:
I once bought a MiniPCI-to-PCI adapter(ebay), and if you search a picture of one of those you might see how they've done it there. I'm pretty sure you can keep your existing antenna and just use the port to EXTEND the range, so you won't have to USE any existing cable. This is how I would do it:
    1. Look for a part of the existing cables.
    2. Cut away some of the plastic around it(be careful to not cut the actual cable)
    3. Solder a new cable to it.
    4. Lead that cable towards the TV tuner port
    5. Somehow attach it (I have no idea how, this is just my theoretical view on the mod)

So, these are more like "directions", I haven't actually tried it myself, so it's pure speculation on how it should be done.

That's actually an adapter for a WiFi antenna, if I remember right. I used to have one. You can make an antenna with a Pringles can, as a heads up.
