    i have been told that the g71 and the g50vt are the same computer w/small differences, screen size and cpu. they even use the same bios so can i assume that the g50vt will support the q9000 series of cpus b/c the g71s do.

    g50vt also has a raid controller while g71g does not. g50vt does allow for a 9 cell battery.

    wow i cant beleive that the g71 doesnt have a raid controller. and yes they do support 9 cell look at the g50vt-x5 @ BB. that will make the best upgrade a Q9000 series i plan to put a q9100 after the warranty is up.

    Another difference between the G50 and G71 series, is that the G71 can support the QX9300 processor while the G50 can not.
