Hi all. New to the forums and just got my X5 via ups on thursday. I've been noticing some "hang ups" in games... especially Prototype. It'll be running fine then everything will move at really low fps and almost looks like slow motion. I'm assuming this is due to heat as the asus NB probe shows cpu temperature at fatal, but doesn't show the actual temperature. Just wondering if anyone knows a way around this issue. Or a good notebook cooler to compensate.

Hmm. Download HWMonitor and run it while you're gaming. When you notice the problems exit out and tell us your max temperatures for your CPU and GPU.

I don't think it's an overheating issue, but that's just me.

CPU temps are running around 90c. Everything else is around 60.

    Wait, what?

Something ain't right there. A CPU should never get that hot. I'm using a (significantly) hotter X9100 CPU that's sharing a heatpipe with a hotter GTX 260m, and my CPU might peak at 75C. And this is after playing an hour or so of Crysis and Dark Sector.

RMA that twerp. Out of curiosity, where did you get it?

Well. Had to RMA it. 6 days after I got it. Not too happy.
