Hey guys, this is my first time using a raid setup. So i'm not to experienced with it.
I have a g500vt-a1 laptop and i'm very pleased with it. This is by far the best laptop i have ever owned!

When my laptop boots up it goes through all the normal POST tests. Then after that it takes me to the RAID screen and gives me the option to press ctr+I to enter setup. After that the screen is black for about 10 seconds and there are some changing numbers (0085, 0087, ect.) in the bottom right hand corner of my screen. Is this normal? Why is it doing this?

And my problem... If i have an external hdd pluged in a usb port, when it gets to that stage of the boot process it will freeze on one of those numbers and i will have to unplug the hdd, turn off my laptop, and power back on.

Can anyone tell me why this happens? Something i should be worried about?

Also... When i mount cd imaged using power iso to install games and such, it uses all 4 gigs of my ram. It did not do this on my older 32 bit, non raid system. Could this also be related to the raid setup?

    Thanks in advance!

    1) Enable "Quiet Boot" in the BIOS .

    2) Never seen that happen. I use Alcohol 120 for my images.

    3) Not RAID related at all.

Forgot to mention... I get this too except I have an eSATA drive. It's RAID-related, has to do with the Intel ICH ROM and the BIOS. When you boot make sure all external drives are unplugged. My first post on this forum was related to this bug, and it's not been fixed. Just make sure to power down instead of rebooting and unplug external drives and you shouldn't have a problem. It's a pain though.
