    would i be able to use 5.1 headsets with the asus g50vt x1? what should i buy if i cant?

    i have a tritton ax360 if that makes a difference.

    you can buy an external sound card that supports 5.1 or buy a usb headset with dolby 7.1 technology and that would take care of it.. like the plantronics 777 headset or the new logitech g35 coming in april.

    Im personaLLy waiting on the g35 =)

    yeah man it seems like its gonna be awsome...sorry to derail your thread but it actually is an option for the OP since its a 7.1 headset and you wont even need a sound card.

    And like i mentioned before the plantronics 777 also has 7.1 dolby technology

    These look interesting. Can i get 5.1 surround out of the normal sound port right out of an G50vt-x1? Or do I need another add on card?

    no the g50vt does not support 5.1 right off the bat. it needs an add on card, weather USB, pci or whatver
