    Hi i was wondering what blu-ray writer would fit into my G50vt-x5 and if i can change the bezel with the one that is in my current writer.

    The other question is, i want to know how well the x9100 processor is doing on user who upgraded to it and what kind of tempertures they are getting, as if i get this cpu i will do the copper mod to lower the temperture.

    Many thanks!

    From what I understand you cannot upgrade the CPU on the G50 to Quad core.

    Any 12.7mm SATA Blu-ray slim drive should work.

    Cheers,

    Right the quads begin with q

    This is what's on ASUS site as supported:

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9600/T9400/P8600/P8400/P7350 : 2.8 GHz - 2.0 GHz, 1066MHz, 6/3MB On-Die L2 Cache;

    Perhaps others have tested different CPUs. I think there is an upgrades portion on this forum. Perhaps you shall find the answers you seek there.

    Cheers,

    Would the same type of Blu-ray drive work in a G51vx?

    i think so, what you can do i guess is find out the model of your current drive and research it to find out the size of it. i got a hitachi LG super milti drive which is a 12.7mm SATA, so i guess any 12.7mm SATA drive will work on my laptop like panzer06 said. But u may need to swap the bezel so that it fits inot the laptop perfectly

    Regarding the Blue-ray Question,
    this thread has some good info;

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=357393

    Sorry, I don't have an X9100, but I bet that the temps would be quite reasonable, as my P8700 runs @~53 celsius @ full load O'Clocked to 2.875GHZ...

    I wish Intel would of released a 3.4GHZ dual core mobile Penryn chip..
