    hi guys,

i just got a refurbished g50vt-x5 as a replacement for my g1s (failed gfx card, RIP). i noticed that when i perform a forced shutdown the system will restart and after the ROG animation it will start making these crazy high pitched noises continuously through the speakers until at least the login screen shows up. i am using windows 7. i tried a forced shutdown from an ubuntu live cd and got the same issues. it stops after i remove the battery and put it back in or i reset bios settings.

i tried fiddling with the bios settings and i can get this noise also by enabling VT-d in the bios Advanced Options and then going to the bios boot menu (pressing esc during the boot sequence). i have the latest bios (213)

is this normal? has anyone else ever had this problem? is my refurbished replacement a lemon?

    thanks
