    That's not true...
Even 110°C is still "safe", that is what Asus says (So if you keep it in the 90°C then your fine :) )

Asus NBProbe, or MobileMeter. I would advise against Speedfan, which is known to have issues in some Asus systems with messing up the fan management and turning it off.

i checked both mobilemeter and nb probe, i could find nowhere in these programs that allow for adjustment of fan speeds, mostly just monitoring. any more ideas, i am trying to up my gpu fan speed. i know it exist for dells, but looking for one for our asus's.

The V1 (nor any Asus notebook, I think) does not have a separate, dedicated gpu fan - just the single system fan connected to dual heatpipes on the cpu and gpu.

Notebook Hardware Control has an ACPI system fan control option, but I don't know if anyone has a V1 config file or whether the author has added it so that might not be an option for you. Beware, however, that the NHC acpi can mess with BIOS control and also cause the same fan control symptoms that are more common in Speedfan (disengage) and other reports say it's buggy in Vista.

Why are you trying to increase the fan speed anyway - gpu overclocking? Else, all you're doing is making more noise :).

While it isn't exactly fan control per-say running Folding@Home will drop your GPU temps 10-15 degrees.

i own a Z71V as well and it has a separate fan for the geforce go 6600, i guess i was assuming this one had the same. i see what you are saying about the heat pipe on these later models, as i have not had this one apart for any reason up to date, now my Z71V i changed the motherboard and did repairs on it so i know it well. but the answer is yes i would like to oc my video card a bit to up my settings on crysis to med, i have most settings to low i was looking at bumping it up for this reason but i wanted to make sure it ran cool enough. i don't really care about the noise as i usually wear headphones when i play. since i got this i am shocked at the resources vista uses, it really bogs down this T7700 with 2gb. i am tempted to go back to XP though i really like the way it looks and stuff. i run my crysis in dx 9 and that seems to help. thanks for the info. dave

My G1S GPU runs at about 90 C with everything maxed for Guildwars at 1680 by 1050. I have also turned up ansiotropic filtering to max in the NV controlpanel. Textures are forced to high quality.

These GPU's can handle the heat. Be glad they don't sweat. :)
