First of all i must say that the w3v runs this game very well, at medium setting it runs smoothly with no glitches, however even after updating the bios and radeon drivers the game would totally freeze up every once in a while. After observing i think it happens shortly after a quicksave or right at certain checkpoints. has anyone else had this happen? I also went into the video card setting and changed them to "performance application controlled", could this affect it?

Start by changing/playing with your deatail and af / aa settings. I actually saw this same before long ago on cod. Cant remember what the problem was but it was software

Download the omega drivers and see if that doesn't take care of it for you. I had a similar issue in doom3 w/ my w1 last year which has the ati 9600 in it.... at the time, the omega drivers that were out took care of my issues and helps performance a ton.

LOL, I had a similar crashing problem with HL2, showed up right after I installed the Omega Drivers 5.7 drivers.

I went back to the regular cat 5.7's and everything's been fine so far. From a little reading at driverheaven.net forums, it seems the 5.7 omega's have some stability issues. cat 5.8 should be coming out soon, so hopefully omega will get it right with this release.

I had the same problem, but it was mainly happening in the swamp boat thingy portion of the game. Since I've gotten past that, I haven't had a lockup since. Weird.

Thanks guys, i am traveling right now i don't have the internet access to get the omega drivers, although on another forum people were saying that the omega drivers helped benchmarks but brought fps in games down, anyway i messed around with the AA AF and now it seems to be more stable.
