Say I would like to know what any one that has the aver media A301 tv tunner on a C90S has done to make it work.First for the drivers.I have tried all the drivers on both the cd the C90S download page and the asus notebook driver page listed under notebook/series/drivers/tv tunner.Second to confirm that its not just a vista ultimate issue I have tried it on a clean install of both XP Pro and XP media center edition 2005 with all of the drivers avalable from the above locations again and instaled all three versions of windows using the Asus C90S OS Installation Guide here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=2617659 by ranger.Third to see if it was just a bad A301 tunner card I sent it back to the manufactuer and they sent me a brand new one so this is my second A301 tv tunner card.Than I redid all of the above again still no luck. Also I beleve that its not a driver issue directly as all instalations are error free with no error messages and in divice manager it has no ? ! or any other errors any where including the avermedia A301 entry it all says "This device is working properly."
And still it wont work I have tried it with both xp media centers windows media center and vista ultimate windows media center.than I tried the asus Mobile Theater application all the versions avalable again from the same above locations. Finally I tried the latest version of CyberLink PowerCinema. In all three aplictions I have tried all avalble Tv tunner options including all automatic setup and scans avalable and all combanations of avalable custom and manual setups and scans and none of them can pick up any picture or any signal at all. Also I know its not my cable tv becase I can un plug the cable from the C90S and right back to the tv or even a vcr,dvd player, dvd recorder, dvr or pvr or even chain it to multiple recording devices before it gets to the tv ie dvd recorder than dvr than to the tv and I get a perfect picture and sound the first time, every time, all the time and all recordings are also perfect I have recorded to the vcr,dvd recorder, dvr and pvr than playback the recordings and even they are perfect and even tried a spliter so I could connect it to the C90S and a tv at the same time and the tv is perfect and the C90S still gets nothing.Im I missing something is their any thing else I can try.Or do I just need to try another brand and model of tv tunner as this is my second avermedia A301 card.If thats the case can any one recomend any place I can buy one that is compatable with the C90S tv tunner slot and both ships to and accepts USA dollars. Thanks every one great forum.

I'm not trying to be a grammar nazi but adding spaces after your periods would make it A LOT easier to read your post. Also, I would also like to know if anyone found a good tv tuner that works for the c90s.

Wow. crazy run on sentences there, I second PlasticChicken and hit "Enter" more often! As short paragraphs are easier to read as well.
Anyway, sounds like a driver issue with XP, or perhaps region incompatibility ie; NTSC card but PAL signal or vice versa?
Personally I don't have a TV tuner in my c90s or else I could be more of help. I'm am tempted to get one, but it seems like the only Mini PCI-e TV Tuner available is AverMedia. -
Sorry for the grammar I am just not a good writer.I felt the contents and detail were more important.
As for drivers I tried all available on both the cd and asus site.
and after that did not work on xp both pro and media center 2005 thats why I tried vista ultimate.
Than sent it back for a new card than repeated all of the above again.
So what other things can be done with drivers given I have tried all of the xp and vista drivers and although device manager still says This device is working properly.
still nothing in windows media center and ether power cinema or asus moble theater.
As for regions all hardware and signals are ntsc even the cables.
So is their really anything else I can do with drivers or software given the above and the other things I tried in my original post. -

got it to work just fine. we tested them on both the c90s, g2d and f3sv (when it did have the option to add it) and worked fine using standard set top box and included drivers on the cd

1 I dont think its just a bad individual card because this is the second avermedia A301 as I reterned the first one after these issues happened.
2 I don't think its is at least not directly a driver issue as I have tried not only the ones on the cd but also all available on the asus site.
3 It cant be just a windows issue as I have tried all drivers on 3 versions of windows doing fresh installs every time.first xp media center 2005 than xp pro and finally vista ultimate.
4 Also if you cant recommend another brand of card other than the avermedia A301 that is compatible with the C90S and the ether you can sell me or recommend some one that might be able to order one for me if I am will to pay for it of course.
thank you -

another thought. make sure that you got the right antena hooked up. out of the 4 antena available under the lid only one connects to the tuner. the other 3 are for the wifi,
