    Hello all,

I have a Fujitsu notebook and my share of doubts when in comes to ASUS quality.... I decided to take the plunge of grabbing the last remaining stock of V6V in an out-of-town computer store. Although there are a few quirks, I am very amazed at the build quality of the notebook.

Anyway, onto the problem... does anyone find that the headphone volume on the V6 series low? The speakers are very loud on my V6V, but I'm disappointed at the low maximum headphone volume (yes, I maximized all system sound volumes). I'm downloading the latest ALC650 Realtek AC97audio drivers right now... do you think it will help? What other solutions should I try?

    Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: installing latest drivers doesn't work... still low headphone volume. I'm using Shure E2c's if that helps.

some people have luck with low impendence headphones i think. some head phones are harder for laptops to drive than others. it has more to do with the way headphones are designed. but that was an issue with ealier asus laptops.

MIght want to get this it works great.

the w2v was a completly different issue all together. its because certain frequencies were slit up between outputs. it was hard to get good stereo sound.
