after taking apart my laptop for repasting and putting it back together, I found that the keyboard is no longer functioning properly and some of the keys
results in multiple keystrokes being carried out.

for example: the letter p and backspace are linked together.
enter and up are executed together
The same problem occurs when I try to type in the bios.

    anyone have any suggestions? thanks!

Have you tried rechecking the plug for the keyboard?

I re updated the drivers after connecting the cable and it worked for a little bit but after I snapped the keyboard back in place, it stopped working again...

If there was nothing spilled on the keyboard and the cable is plugged in properly then likely you may have a problem with the keyboard.
You can try removing the kyboard but leaving the cable in and seeing if slight bends in the keyboard cause it to stop working.
If so then you should be able to RMA just the keyboard and use a USB one in the meantime.

I never spilled anything on the keyboard. When i took apart the laptop, I just left the keyboard on the side for half of the day. When I first started up the laptop after disassembling it, it worked fine and I went out and left the computer in sleep mode. When I came back it stopped working properly.

Right now, it only works periodically, and it just randomly stops working. There's no way I can troubleshoot it since I don't have another keyboard, or another laptop. Jeez I really hope there's nothing wrong with the mobo and it's only a problem with the keyboard.

Anyone else who disassembled their laptop have any suggestions? I know there are a lot of you out there since lots of people have done a repaste.
