    i recently got this asus ux31a with windows 64bit os
    the touch pad is really sensitive and i have read that updating the driver has fixed this issue you

    on the asus website it says i need to update my atk package first but need to delete older one before installing newer one?

    any help would be greatly appreciated

    Which version of the Windows do you use? Windows 7 or Windows 8?

    First, uninstall ATK Package from Control Panel.
    Second, download new ATK Package from Asus website. Here is a link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download UX31A
    ATK Package is located in Utilities and named "ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities".

    the only driver update for touch pad is for smart gesture but i only have an elantek driver on my computer?

    There have been some gripes against the trackpad and Asus drivers.

    Take a look at this thread (you can also download different drivers that may work better for you).
