Installed all drivers on Asus K52F, but there is something missing - PCI simple communications controller driver is missing.

What kind of hardware is this? I need to know exactly.

    The ID is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B64&SUBSYS_1F271043&REV_06

It looks like an Intel Management Engine Interface device. I had the same issue (same vendor, different device number but also called PCI Simple Communications Controller) a few days ago when my SSD bit the dust and I had to reinstall Win 7.

Google VEN_8086&DEV_3B64 and you should find the driver.

There wasn't a Win 7 driver for mine and the Intel installer stopped with a message that the OS was not supported, but then a Windows message popped up that allowed me to install it anyways.

Install (or re-install) the Intel chipset drivers.

Yep, looks like IMEI, i remember someone asking that same question not too long ago, the installer should be available on Intel's download site. If you do not have a driver for windows 7, use the one for windows vista.

Slightly off topic, but the forum rules stipulate that you should wait 24 hours before bumping a post due to the lack of answers. I suggest you give them a read while you're at it ;)

Indeed, the problem was the missing Intel Management Engine Interface 5 (whatever BS that is) - something not included in Asus downloads..

Why don't you google yourself and see that all you will find will be the software that "checks" drivers in your computer, and then asks to be bought - instead of the driver itself. I registered in these forums, because i could not find a direct link to download what i needed. "SIGH"...

No need for the hostility. There are no paid experts here, we're all just trying to help each other.

Anyways, I did use Google. How else could I find the driver for my computer?

Here are a couple of suggestions:

    1. PCI Vendor and Device Lists -- I don't remember exactly since I was checking many sites, but I believe I got my driver from a link on this site. And yes, I found this site through *Google*.

    2. Since the device in question is from Intel, go to downloadcenter.intel.com and search for "Management Engine Interface." You'll find a link here but the thing is that Intel doesn't specify which devices this works with. I assume this means it will work with all IMEI devices, but I could be completely wrong.
