Hi - when my computer has been inactive for a while, the screen does dark, which I assume is normal. However, moving or clicking the mousepad or any keys doesn't reactivate it. The power button is still lit - but the only way for me to get it to respond is to hold down the power button until it does a hard shut down. There has to be another way to reactive it - what am I doing wrong?
Also - does anyone use the power4gear modes, or know what the differance is among them? Thanks!

I believe this problem is from Powered4Gear, which I've since disabled since Window's native power management controls seem fine.

If you want to continue using Power4Gear I would recommend doing some more searching on this site, there has been lots of discussion on this issue lately, and this might yield more results.

I recently applied this patch for Windows which somebody else here dug up. I have my computer setup so I don't even have to worry about that particular problem so I can't tell you if it works, but that patch is likely to fix it if you haven't already adjusted your settings as a work-around. It's described as a patch "because the Windows kernel power manager cannot obtain the memory resources that are required to prepare the computer to hibernate".
