Is the harddrive working on other computers?

I'm asking because I had a case of a bad external enclosure that was shutting down my computers (due to a short with the power signal).

I have a somewhat similar problem on my G1S!

When i try to transfer a file to/from my esata disk, it freezes like every 5 second or so, and the disk makes all kind of weird mechanical noises...

Have tried with two different esata drives, with the same results.
They work flawlessly with USB 2.0

Seems like there something wrong witch my esata port, what do you guys think?

Try a search with some relevant keywords like G1S esata freeze; I remember some fix to this problem being posted some time ago but I can't remember the fix itself.

(at least the problem has been posted that's for sure)

Possibly a silly question, but perhaps an INF update could do the trick? If I am not mistaken, it should take care of usb problems, as it informs the operating system how to properly configure certain characteristics such as USB (as mentioned in the Intel site). Or...a bios update perhaps?
