I don't own an m15x but I think the top temps that people posted were 101 (give or take 1 degree) max.

i use nvidia monitorview and rivatuner

well even if i didnt i would have known that its about to blow up because the game had like 1 sec lag spikes (throttling down)

it gets that hot after... well, 5-10 min, 30 min max

i've capped the fps to 25-30 just to not have it shut down on me and be able to play

Do you think high temperatures are reason enough not to consider buying a G1S?

Wouldn't anything above 100C do permanent damage to the system!?

    Thanks.

yes because its useless unless you start underclocking the GPU in order to be able to play a game. or just fry it and have a party with RMA going back and forth

I haven't been able to get past 110°C yet. It immediately downclocks the moment 110°C is reached.

    Can I ask something please....

Are you guys trying to intentionally see how hot you can get the laptop ON PURPOSE, or are you guys just monitoring the regular normal everyday behaviour of the beast?

I game for hours playing Bioshock and highest my gpu gets is high 80s so it's nothing to dismiss the g1s about. I'm not sure how everyone is getting 100+ temps...

on purpose? this is my 2nd G1s, i returned the A1 (overheating) and got the B2.

i love this laptop, but its plain useless because i cant play a game. the temps i'm registering are on a flat surface and in an air conditioned room. (GPU temps, not CPU)

when im not playing a game its fine

oh and btw, my max (as well as many more ppl's) have always been 110 celcius, it just edged up to 111 for the first time so i thought i'd celebrate

Playing Tabula Rasa, i reach 103-104c regularly(WoW ~90c), air conditioned room, laptop cooler... taking it apart to clean it out with a can of air. I don't feel i should have to, but i'll probably put some arctic silver on the gpu within the next couple weeks. I really love the G1s, its a very solid machine, and have absolutely no problems with it other than a few certain games i play... :(

AC adapter plug came out on me one day while playing a game and by the time I could replace the plug my gpu was at 116C...albeit this was a c90...with the holes cut out from the bottom! It's just because the fans practically stop when it loses ac power haha
