I love my Asus, no joke, I just can't get it to shut up during boot up - you know, the sounds it makes when the Asus logo pops up with Intel in the corner. Please someone enlighten me, when I shut off the volume, even the Vista logo won't peep, so what do I need to do?
Haha, sorry about the original title, I couldn't help myself, it's been bugging me all week.

Go into the bios and turn off the post sound.

It's that simple? I'm not a BIOS guy though, where's a good place I can read up on changing those settings?
-
just hit F2 when you're first starting up. Everything is pretty much self explanatory. If you panic and don't want to save what you've done, you can just turn the machine off or hit the "Exit Discarding Changes" key.

Thanks man. I'll PM about your proc too..

Hey, so I did what you said, nd the laptop already has "SILENT BOOT" enabled, but the ASUS logo is still making the annoying sound, is there another option I should be looking at?
-
ya there is an option called "Post-Sound"

Wow, missed that on the front page! Thanks.
how do I make my Asus stop making sounds at boot-up?
