how good are their tech support? everybody talks about how good their build quality is and blah blah blah, but I just bought the PW201 lcd monitor and although it looks nice, the build is okay... and it doesn't work right. It's a lemon! I emailed them and have yet to get a reply. I might just return it... but i'd rather keep it if i can get one that works properly.

It should be just as good as it's build quality.

well, i emailed and i called them and nobody answered all 3 times i called. I spaced them out hours at a time too and left a message to call me back. I'm pretty fed up... they sell something and talk about how great it is, then don't even have anybody there to assist those with questions. I've been on hold for at least an hour today, only to get forwarded to a stupid answering machine. That wait time estimate is crap too... how could they estimate a 1 minute wait with nobody on the other line?

You're better off calling them if possible. The email support is very iffy depending on which branch of the world gets it. I've called them several times (I do RMA for a computer store), never had problems. The email reply sometimes takes two or three business days, which is why it's generally preferred to call in (but then you pay long distance).

Also, you should be talking to customer service rather than technical support.

For North America the ASUS tech support is quite good, responsive with respective and timely turn arounds.

There can be instances where a part or item may not be readily available in which it will hinder turn around times.

I suggest your contact your reseller and or ASUS directly.

If you're in North America, there's at least one person I have heavily relied on since he started many years ago. Everyone is good, but I'd guarentee good service from Albert. Now he's a busy guy, but if there was ever even a question of how good their service is, I'd trust him with my life....... as long as my life used an Asus motherboard and a Microsoft OS... :)

i'll called today and i got the same thing, a machine and no calls back. I will probably call another branch of ASUS, eg. motherboards, and hopefully they can find somebody that can help me. So far, not good... but I'll give them another shot. I've never had a problem with ASUS products, so if this is how there customer service is, I'm probably just gonna avoid the brand entirely.

In the UK the tech support seems to be handled from the Netherlands. You normally get through to them pretty quickly by phone. In terms of email, they normally reply within 24 hours.

In terms of getting things fixed, this is handled (in the UK anyway) by a third party RMA centre called CRC. See my thread re my A8F about the problems I've had dealing with them.

apparently they only have 1 guy that answers questions for LCD's... that's it... i'm through with ASUS. I was on the phone for probably an hour and half on hold getting transferred around talking to people that know nothing! I'm debating on ebaying this monitor or sending it back to ewiz... I'm not sure if it's broke or if the OSD/monitor SUCKS this bad. ARggghhhhh... the frustration!

Yeah, I called them recently and the service seems to have taken a dive. Their system is a lot slower, could be people on vacation. Gonna have to check with my ASUS rep on this one, they had better not have outsourced it...

I gave Asus New Zealand tech support my first call today. (didnt tell them I sell their notebooks)

And I felt the man on the phone was really rude. Very abrupt and not very helpfull at all. Said if i wanted my issue sorted I'd have to drive 50km to see him, and they would get it done in a few days where i'd have to drive back and collect it. (4 day old notebook)

He thought it was out of the question to send it to service through work...
