    i got my laptop today... but i do not know if i got a 2m version or1m
    how can i tell... without taking it apart...

    You could go to the notebook manufacturers website and look up the specs on the model you bought, it will tell you.

    There are a few ways, from memory I think the info tab in ASUS probe display's the level of L2 cache on the CPU, this would be an easy way to tell if ya have a Dothan or banis.

    thanks for the replies guys... i used cpuid... and it worked it
    displayed everything from cpu type, mb type, and memory type...
    i'm really enjoying this laptop... sounds a bit flat but hey
    aren't all laptops??? and i decided to run win2kpro on it...
