1)No idea I think you can buy from 1toppc.com and btotech.com but I have no idea about customs charges and such you will have to contact them.

2)If you purchase from those 2 sites no you will not need to build it, if you want they will build it for you for free.

    3) No solid information but in some interviews Asus confirmed their will be gpu upgrades. Someone found the asus c90 key parts list which said their will be 5 cards available for the c90. Its pretty much confirmed we will get something a decent amount better then the card that is in it.

You can either order it from Canada (from place like MileStonePC) or to order it from US, like BtoTech,XoticPC and GentechPC and have it shipped to there.

You can do it yourself, installation is straightforward AFAIK.

It's an MXM card, but it seems to be some ASUS exclusive format (not compatible with the form factor of other laptops)

I heard that MilestonePC is a good place for Canadian buyers, or BTOTech too I think, but I am not sure. You can either buy the barebones laptop and build it yourself or just add in what you want and have it built buy the reseller. The gpu is a geforce 8600 gt 512mb ddr-2 mxm-II card.

Well dont know about canadian resellers but on the us the best resellers are: (imho)
    www.1toppc.com
    www.btotech.com
They both let you choose whether you want the pieces separatly or if you want them built by them (its better to get it built and test by them).

The gpu is still a question mark most expect to upgrade to a 9600 since the no other the 8800 is expected to be mmx iii and thus incompatible. I will be happy to get a card with ddr3 memory

Milestone PC is overpriced compared to the US one imo ($2000 with 160GB 5400RPM, 2GB RAM and E6600 + 3 yrs warranty versus $1550 on gentec).

www.infonec.com has all the parts (even the 3 yrs warranty) and it ends up about the same price as gentech (after USD->CAD convertion) but I cannot tell you about their reliability, they are on very few website that review online retailer.

AFAIK, MXM is MXM, the only exceptions are MXM-IV (also HE I think) and MXM-III Anima (or something like that).

I'm pretty sure (or at least I hope so!) there will be a MXM-II HD2600XT. There is supposed to be a 22W consumptions on the mobile 8800 but the code name of the 8800M GS has been proven to be the same of the 8700M GT (NB8E-SE, G84M rev 409.01 or something near this) so...

It does not have any link to this topic but FYI the 7950GX2 used G71M and not the G71 so if the G80M comsumes 22W, they could make a 8850GX4 that would consumes less than a 8800GTX lol

The 1599 model is no more there. and the E6700 is 1899, gentech finishes it at 1769

And I doubt they ship in Canada.

I just checked and no they don't, like 99% of american online store, they don't ship internationally.

All Canadian online stores ship to the US though
