Just wondering, to reach the full power of the system, shouldn't this laptop be using 800Mhz ram modules?
and would it work with 2 modules of different speeds?(1g of 667 and 1g of 800)?

using different speed will give you the speed lof the owest stick.

    So 1x667 and 1x800 will be 2x667

    Cool thanks

But what about matching the RAM speed to the system bus?
ie, i see all the laptops, lets say ASUS F3sa, its a 800FSB, but the memory that comes with it is 667?
Reasons? or is it just because 800Mhz RAM too expensive?

Hmm, Ive Tried to Put 2 800mhz Corsairs, it did not accept it. Even on F3KA-A1 with 1600FSB 1MB l2 cache, it did not accept it either. 667 is the way to go for these f3 machines.

    cool thanks for the tip.

But I am still wondering about the discrepancy.

As far as I know, there only 1 bus for the system, and all compents should have the same speed. So what JCMS said makes sense. The bottle neck will alwasy be the slowes component.

I just dont get why you can't have a 800 RAM on a 800 FSB system?
Same thing for the ASUS C90. From what i heard, the maximum it takes is 800MHz RAM, even thogh the system is 1066FSB

Now is F3KA-A1 amd based? cus the think amd is on a totally different architecture than intel. And i have no idea why they have such a high bus speeds
