i keep getting a bsod i think it may be the seating of the ram or the hard drive ....... C0000218 is the code i get...now i am super frustrated
-
Try resetting your BIOS to default settings.
Also, what laptop are you using?
Edit: if you are using the G73JH, then remove the ram module from underneath the keyboard. -

i am using the g73---a1....
ok i did the bio reset and i reseated the ram and the hard drives...both ssd's and i am trying to install the os again and hopefully it will be ok -
yeah, it's a common problem on the G73Jh series. The ram slot under the keyboard must be empty when you first boot or else it will give you a BSOD. Once it boots properly, you can replace the ram back to the slot.

the only way to do that is to take it all apart again -

but i cant take it out unless i take the whole computer apart again ..... -
Just take the palm rest off. No need to disassemble the entire laptop.

ok is there a easy way of doing this
take out the keyboard then what ? -
The process shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Once the keyboard/palm rest is off, you should see your ram. Remove it and boot your laptop. Once it boots sucessfully, replace the ram back to the slot.

but i have to take the screen off too

You don't have to remove it entirely. You'll need to remove the screws holding the hinges down but keep the cables connected.
I guess I should have mentioned this earlier, but here's the disassembly guide if you haven't seen it yet:

It should. The issue has been long known.
See below post for more info:

Edit: weird that it didn't work. Check the thread I posted above. The first post lists the exact instructions and see if you have missed anything. -

ok so here is something weird i went into bios and changed the asus overclock to turbo and its working now....
-
Glad to know it's working now
-
benthedogtrainer Notebook Evangelist
but why is it working with just the bios change....dosent make sence -
I had the opposite problem. Asus easy over clock set to turbo with everything else default made my system completely unstable. Once I started changing the multipliers I could get it stable. Post a screen shot of cpu-z when you have a chance.
