Hey, i am having some problems with running some programs in vista. I therefore also want to install xp on my laptop. When I boot on the xp installation cd an error occures. I think the problem is that xp cant find my hard disc.. I will probably need some driver to help my xp installation. Can somebody help me??

    Hi,

If you have an option in the BIOS put the HDD in SATA Compatibility mode. Install XP, install SATA drivers, then change the HDD back to SATA optimized mode.

Otherwise you need to slipstream the SATA drivers onto the XP install disk.

There are many threads about these procedures, do a search.

Or you can use LastXp or some other similar modified Windows installs which have sata drivers along with many others already on the install disc..
