from reading some posts in the forum I've heard that intel dropped prices on the pentium m's and that asus will be keeping the w3v at the same price but with the 2.0 ghz. Is this going to cause a LOT of more heat and reduce some battery life? because if it does then i would be reluctant to buy one. btw, i wont be getting one for a few months. thanks!

I really don't think anyone in this forum actually reads anymore..... infact, I'm sure they don't.

You're creating another thread based on a post I just made. You would have been better off replying to that than to post a thread that asks a question that I just answered.

By the end of August, the W3's and V6's should be shipping with 2.0's at the todays current price. The faster your cpu, the more heat you have and the less battery life you'll get...... exactly like I said in the "you were reading". It's not going to be too much different, but it will obviously have an impact. There are ways around it, such as keeping the cpu running at a lower speed. You're a few months away from getting anything, so there will be plenty of time to hear what others are experiencing with that new configuration by that time.

Hope that helps. Don't be reluctant, but at the same time remember that you're a long way away from making the purchase. Go with the flow and hold off on judgement until when you have to purchase.
