i have 2 batteries for the asus c90s, for school.

today i noticed that when i started up the computer - it said i only had 20 min left with 98%. i made sure i was in battery mode and that cpuz showed an underclocked cpu.

it did, and still, every half a minute, it would go down 1 or 2 %? i thought maybe just windows was reporting it wrong but sure enough, 18 min later, went into standby and the battery died?

i went home and put in my other battery with 98% - and it shows 1 hours and 48 min left and the percent didnt go down quickly.

just tried my old battery again - and same thing - 3 percent dropped in less than a minute?

do i have a bad battery?

Try calibrating it. Who sells an extra battery?

figured i'd get questions like that :) the place i ordered from was ewiz.com (online doesn't show if there instock or not so def call)

but just call everyone from google products - or just check to see if online sais they have it in stock - thats what i did, until i found someone who had it.

disregard the picture they have of it - every single online place has a picture that does not look at all like the actual battery but when it comes in the mail, its the right one.

    btotech.com has them too,

on topic it does sound like a bad battery. is it a c90s actual battery? if not maybe it haves less cells.

Well it would seem like a bad battery. All signs point towards it. Ask for an exchange.

it wasn't the battery i ordered from ewiz - it was my original battery.... and yes, the ewiz is the actual battery, not offbrand, same part number and everything.

which i just filled out an rma with btotech and they will be replacing it because it was indeed bad, don't care though because btotech is a great company and will give me a replacement very soon.

just out of curiosity, i never really do this, only have once - but is it bad to switch batteries while the computer is plugged in and on and running? (meaning once 1 battery gets to 100%, switch batteries while running windows and put in a drained battery), or should i turn it off first?

and i would not order from the dealers because btotech charges $125 for another battery - i purchased mine for $63 shipped.

No problem switching the battery while it's plugged in. I do it all the time.

Hibernate the computer first once its off switch battery then turn the computer back on if you can't lose any work
