this is probably answered before, but it doesn't help that the search engine doesnt allow w5a to be searched

so my question is, is there a barebone version of the asus w5a?
the z33a is nice, but i prefer the higher resolution of a widescreen

    thanks

Sorry...there is no barebone version available.
You can, however, customize the W5a to specs of your choosing through resellers like Star Tech PC.

Nope!, in the US, the closest thing to a barebone of an ensemble unit is the Z63a, and even then, it's not the same as the w3v. If you really insist on widescreen, why not choose that? same height as z33a, but wider.

The Z63a is tecnically the barebone version of the W3A...which is an ensemble in other parts of the world :D

^how about MSI? they have 2 models that are 12" wxga. Them and Asus are usually regarded as "up there" in terms of build quality for whitebook/barebone brands.

Yup, Goren...I saw your "favs" in sig line and started to look at the 1022...then the product line of MSI intro'd at CeBit 2006 and their S262 that is aluminum alloy and Yonah'd-out has certainly proved your (or Auroa's) comment about hangin' in there and having patience for the next product(s) launches. No one has really moved their price points at this time...

Since when is msi considered good build quality. its almost imposible to get rma aproved with them. We still have video cards they shipped without a serial number that they will not take back. most not all of their power value providers are basement builders. If you like a good quality msi is on par with quanta or clevo. Good luck with any manufacturer support. Not too sure of their reseller support.
