Dont worry! ASUS are a very good make and you can be rest assured the componets of the laptop are top quality.

ASUS is known in the industry as a quality brand and they make laptops for the more known brands like Sony and Apple. They are very good build quality and you have purchased a very good laptop, enjoy it!

I've seen the A6J cheaper, but not with the ATI x1600. If you plan on using it for anything game-wise or graphics card intensive I'd say it's a good deal. Otherwise, you could order an A6J with a slightly larger HD, but with a less powerful graphics card for a bit cheaper.

Ah, you'd be talking about the A6Jc I believe. Almost identical to the A6Ja except the GPU is an nVidia go7300.

The A6J series has been available in Australia for a few months now, and has seen price drops in the last few weeks. The model the OP listed is now available for ~$1900 AUD, which represents excellent value for money.

This page from the Asus website lists the awards the A6Ja has received.

yeah, i already checked that thread.. read your review but..
I dont have too big a budget, just exactly had 1200 euro :D , so I'm counting on the 2 year warranty.
this is my first notebook, i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
btw TeDJ, do those awards really mean anything, or every other notebook gets them ;)
