    hi! i just want to know if the g72 really has a locking up issue coz i plan on exchanging my g71 for it. any other issues that i should be aware of?

    Mine runs flawless, just having a problem with Steam... it windows 7 though.

    Mine's running with no issues so far picked it up 4 days ago and no problems with steam as of yet. What has steam been doing?

    It just locks up. On my first computer (still a g72gx..) it even made windows 7 do a disk check and that just wiped out the hard drive. So I returned it thinking it was defective, came home and tried to install Steam again... It locked up so I booted into safe mode before it would do a disk check and removed it. Try installing AVG though, some other guy had a problem with that. And when you were installing Steam, during the "updating platform"... did yours freeze up? Maybe I'm impatient, but I know multiple other people are having this problem.

    I was the one that had issues with AVG, but none with Steam so far.
