Great Machine with good price.
Compared to Z63A:
pros: cheaper, faster, more silent, cooler, more solid and with better battery life.
cons: not as beautiful as Z63A, a bit heavier than Z63A.

Wrong forum, but excellent choice

Good choice! My Z63a got stains on palmrest areas after 2 months' use. Z62F with no stains is a lot better appearance than Z63a with stains.

Maybe this thread was originally in another forum...then coriolis or some other mod moved it here

Good choice. I hope you're going to tell us more...when you have it.

The z62f is so close to perfect for me. First, the price point, compared to ANYTHING out there at DELL-o, Circuit Town, Better Buy, et al., in a Centrino Core Duo, today, is not close...IMHO...
When you do the "customize" button and then see what you've got at the end...particularly for anyone who's determined to install their licensed Windows XP Pro, yada yada yada.
Now, the person who had that stain on their Z63a because of sweaty palms...I swear...I know the surgeon who pioneered the clipping of one of the cranial nerves in an office procedure that takes care of that problem...it is a problem if you stain your Z63a OR you shake hands with people and they have to wipe their hands...
It's a well known phenomenon. Back to the notebook...
I'd buy this now except that my needs are for an ultra portable weight, the same price point...I don't care about graphics as long as they are minimally 945GM platform with at least a T2300 Core Duo mobo. That will be good enough...You're a gamer? than do the Z3j, and spend another 50% at minimum. I don't play Doom 3 but I hate ****py response...above Doom 3 level-above requires someone to AT LEAST pay $250-300 more...you're not me and if you need that, you'll buy it...and, if you'll never need it but 300 USD isn't important to you, then you'll buy it, too.
By law, I must remind you that my rep power is 0 (required by statute)
just bought ASUS Z62F---better than ASUS Z63A except the appreance
