1. not really liking vista- is it possible to downgrade?
a. will i have issues with the drivers if i downgrade?
b. how easy will it be to downgrade using an usb dvd drive? will the bios recognized the usb drive as a boot drive?
2. fuzziness- i've adjusted all options and gotten the letters to be fine- but the bar at the bottom (dock) is still somewhat fuzzy...is this just how the screen is? i've tried adjusting the resolution settings but ntohing helps.
3. camera- i hvae a logitech pro for notebook camera- the thing is literally crystal clear. when i turn on the regular camera- it sucks. any way to make it betteR? is it a hardware issue with no fix? would love to not have to use the logitech camera...
4. anyone get the official u3 dvd drive? can i not simply buy a regular external drive and have it work just as well?
5. is it worth (failing #1) reinstalling vista, and the drivers to get rid of bloatware?
thanks all!

1. yes it is a few select dealers offer other options for xp. it is not easy. infact for the end users it is hard as asus does not make getting xp drivers easy
2. you lost me here. i dont see any fuzz. have one sitting here waiting for xp actually
3. the integrated camera does suck. i mean its ok but by no means the quality of a stand alone camera
4. yes you can use any usb drive. the official drive is simply a usb drive with asus logo
5, not to me. i use both vista and xp on my machines. I categorically disagree when people say "vista sucks". i want to reply "you suck" -
thanks for the response! i guess vista stays. the only question- i've always done a clean install of new laptops with the OS to get rid of trial software/crap tha ti don't want preinstalled.
on your reply to my question 5 you seems to have gone off on a tangentso are you saying that it's not worth it to reinstall clean vista? or are you saying it's not worth to change to xp =)
thanks again! -

in a report put out by m.s. some time ago they said that on average users HAVE to format once a year due to software defects. What that means to me is that the users that are more prone to problems (downloaDERS, modders, people who like to install toolbars and every free junk software they can find) will likely have to do it alot more often. Using the factory restore kit will get rid of all your soft issues but that does not mean that "user error" will not bring the issues back. Moral of the story is know what you are doanloading and watch what you are installing. People that do not frequent forums most likely would not understand what i just said these are the same people that fall victim to "the rule" more often then not.,
just got asus u3s - questions!
