When I right click on folders/icons in vista the computer will stutter for a fraction of a second, causing the mouse to jump and any music playing to skip. This can't be normal... I can't imagine what would be causing this... anyone have any idea?

this is out of the box?
any apps loaded?
customized?
Are there background apps hogging up the cpu? are you letting it load fully? -
my comp does the exact same thin. i figured it was a vista error cause it never happened on my xp-loaded desktop.

I am having this problem too. So I think its normal.

lol define normal =P
not but seriously i doubt thats normal.. just did it now with and without music... right clicking here and there on files and folders... no stuttering or skipping in music... there mite be something hogging up ur resources... or maybe even the indexing service that vista runs when u first run ur laptop -

Try this link. I didn't totally read through it, but it looks like it could provide an answer. Disregard the XP labeling. It says it works with Vista errors. -
i just uninstalled asus data security manager and asus instantfun, and now it disappeared. dunno if this will help any of you, but now my music doesn't skip at all.

maybe somthing to do with the slower hdd's of a notebook and the indexing features and sutch things, also anti virus ect.
Anything that needs to activly run when you acces somthing taking up resources for a moment causing a spike.
I dont think I have noticed this using vista on my desktop. -
I just uninstalled asus data securit manager, and the issue seems to be gone.
