So i needed to reinstall with asus recover and now all is ok.

If noone replies, I suggest keep the stock drivers unless they have a very bad performance hit.

Is this maybe related to "overscanning"? Try a google search or something. I never use TV out so I don't know these things.

The only thing that comes to mind is to be sure you are using 800x600 or 1024x178 screen resolution on the external display. But most importantly, set it to be 60Hz.

The stock drivers for most Asus notebooks gives correct tv out without overscan. Overscan is what causes some of the picture to not fit and be cut off. If you do a search for my name, I have put up a fix for this that allows you to use even the lastest nvidia drivers. It may be in the Asus forums but im not sure.

    blah here it is:

Here is the new method for correcting overscan through HDMI on HDTV:

uninstall current drivers from control panel, restart in safe mode and run guru3d driver sweeper, reinstall drivers in normal mode then...

    1. Switch to dualview mode with HDTV as secondary display

    2. Go to "resize hdtv" in left pane

    3. Click the "resize my desktop" radio button, click apply

    4. Change to clone mode

should also work for s-video, dvi, etc
