I don't think any one Asus reseller will be significantly cheaper than competitors (maybe $50 cheaper max), especially for newly released notebooks. PROPortable has a nice rewards program for NBR members with 10+ posts in the Asus forums.

For ENSEMBLE units, they are always the MSRP, so the price is often all the same. Some places may have sales themselves which makes them a tad cheaper.

For Built On's, some places are cheaper then others, but remember, what you pay is what you get, so don't expect the same customer service, etc.

I'm sorry in advance if this turns out to be a silly question, but does Asus offer an extended warranty or is it typically through the reseller only? I've never purchased a warranty on my Asus desktop components, and would only be interested to cover myself in the event the LCD should have a problem down the road.

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Adam

My understanding is on the Ensemble you can get 2 year extended warranty from Asus (purchased from the reseller). If you go to proportable.com and look at the Ensemble notebooks, near the bottom of the page the warranty is listed with other accesories.

For ENSEMBLE, you get a 1 year global warranty,(except for the V6va), with an option to upgrade it to 2 for a fee

Actually the V6Va is also 1 year global warranty. It was the first shipment that had 2 year, along with a first shipment W3V's that had the 2 year sticker also. Those are the only exceptions. :D
