Can anyone tell me how I can make my T2500 run at full speed all the time? When using power4gear it keeps switching back to 1ghz when idling. The "always on" setting in windows power management has no effect either. And the BIOS has no settings for throttling the cpu. Is it even possible?
My laptop is an w2j

Well, you can try this program here, but you will also need MS .net framework 2.0.

Though I don't know why you'd want to do this though, as it is quite unnecessary. -
Why make it run at the full speed when its not needed? lt will run at 2.0Ghz when applications need the full speed.

It would seem like a bad idea to keep the processor locked at full speed. That will make the computer run a lot warmer than necessary, putting extra (and unnecessary) stress on the coolling system and critical system components. So long as you set the computer in a mode where the processor is unrestricted, it will figure out how much power it needs and give it what is necessary. More than that is pointless.

There should be an option in the bios to disable speed step.
Another option is to NOT use power4gear (stop it from auto-loading) and set you power setting (in control pannel) to home/office desktop. -
i remember that some program can lock cpu at full speed for Pentium M under a Windows, probably, core duo can do this as well.

y would u lock the speed at maximum capacity if you don't even need it? You waste more battery like this.

That computer's going to run warm... you're going to save a lot more power if you allow it to drop when not needed....
Boggles the mind... hehehe most people are looking for a way to drop CPU usage when idle... and you're looking for the exact opposite, well Notebook Hardware Control should work... not that Im any expert on keeping usage uphehehe
locking core duo at full speed?
